Why do I have to have an account in order to see the site?
In short – privacy. The long answer comes down to protecting our members from internet-based bots which would be crawling through our membership data if it were not secured. We have no desire to be a resource for data-mining companies.
I've signed up for an account, how do I find my clan's page (or find a clan to join)?
Click on the “Clans & Groups” link located at the top or left side. Once one the page, you can search for your clan by name, or browse the list of clans in the list. To make browsing easier we have tagged clans based on their Console, Games, Playstyle, etc. You can click on these tags to filter the list of Clans and Groups down to a selection that fits your needs.
How do I contact the site administrators, and who are these enigmatic individuals exactly?
Due to the nature of all volunteer staffing that we have here at the Dads of Destiny Gaming Community the list changes from time to time – the best way to do this is join the Group: Dads of Destiny here on Dnet/m and post your questions on the wall.
I'm a clan admin looking to register for a clan site, what do I need to do?
If you are an established clan (15 members or more) and looking to join the ranks of DoD Member Clans you can register for a site by clicking on the “New Clan or Group Application” link on the right side of most pages (e.g. DoD Members, Clan & Groups, and your own profile page). Be sure that you are familiar with the rules and regulations laid out over on Dnet.
My clan page has an "Events" section, how do I add scheduled events to the list?
Only clan Admins can add events to the clan calendar. This is done by setting up the event on the admin’s profile page, then assigning it to a clan that they have administrative access to. Once it is listed on the clan page, then members can reserve seats for the event (if you limited the number of participants during setup). There are a lot of options for tweaking events to fit your specific activity.
I made a forum thread for my clan, and then tagged it to be sticky - now it is gone, what gives?
If this is your first ever sticky thread the system wants to verify that you are not a spammer (annoying feature we’re working to disable) despite being an admin. Your thread is still alive, but needs to be confirmed by a site administrator. We’ll get it kicked through shortly and it will appear as you desired. Once it is approved you can make and sticky other threads without issue.
I promoted a member to Moderator, but what does this actually do, and why can't I promote them further… or for that matter demote them back to member?
Moderator is a role that is currently experiencing some issues – the crux of the problems is that the role exists outside of the operational controls of Buddy Press Groups – we are waiting for a fix from the devs to get this issue addressed. In the meantime, if you run into an issue with the role, please ping a site administrator to move the user up or down a rank within your clan.
